On the afternoon of May 10, 2025, at the National Convention Center, Vietnam National Shipping Lines (VIMC) held a ceremony to celebrate its 30th anniversary (1995-2025) and received the Second-class Labor Medal - a noble award from the Party and State, recognizing VIMC's important contributions to the development of the maritime industry and the national marine economy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The ceremony was honored to have the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc, members of the Party Central Committee, leaders of central and local ministries, departments and branches; representatives of diplomatic agencies, international organizations; businesses, partners, customers; together with former leaders, leaders and all officers, employees of VIMC and its member enterprises.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Anh Son \u2013 Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of VIMC \u2013 was moved to look back on the three decades of challenging but also proud journey. He shared: \u201cThirty years, a journey full of ups and downs, with brilliant periods but also times of having to wallow in the depths of difficulty.\u201d<\/i>Since the years of crisis when accumulated losses reached more than 23,000 billion VND, and payable debts reached 66,000 billion VND, VIMC was on the brink of a comprehensive crisis.But it was in that dark moment that the spirit of those who carried within them the pride of the seafaring profession\u2026 lifted up this ship and steered it forward.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

With a series of drastic restructuring solutions, focusing on three core areas (seaports, shipping and maritime services), combined with the application of modern management methods and the philosophy of "taking customers as the center", VIMC has gradually recovered spectacularly. From a negative equity level, VIMC has now reached a capitalization value of over VND 100,000 billion, becoming a leading public enterprise in the maritime sector in Vietnam.<\/p>\n

The ceremony to award the Second Class Labor Medal \u2013 a noble award of the Party and the State \u2013 was held in a solemn and emotional atmosphere. The representative of the Ministry of Finance announced the decision and performed the awarding ceremony for Vietnam National Shipping Lines. This is a milestone marking the three-decade journey of a group that has not succumbed to the storms, has known how to \u201cadjust the sails\u201d to rise up and reach the open sea.<\/p>\n

On behalf of the Government, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc acknowledged and highly appreciated VIMC's outstanding efforts over the past 30 years, especially its leading role in developing logistics infrastructure and connecting international trade. \u201cVietnam National Shipping Lines has overcome many difficulties and challenges with creativity, determination and solidarity \u2013 becoming a pillar enterprise in the country's marine economy.\u201d<\/i> The Deputy Prime Minister also emphasized: \u201cThe Second Class Labor Medal awarded today is a testament to VIMC's persistent and tireless contributions to the national economy.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

The celebration ended with a special art program called \u201cThe Journey of Mission \u2013 Overcoming Waves \u2013 Entering a New Era\u201d \u2013 recreating the 30-year journey through stage language, music and modern technology graphics. The vivid and emotional images on stage were an inspiring message about a new future \u2013 where VIMC continues to grow strongly on the global marine economic map.<\/p>\n
