(NLDO)- Ho Chi Minh City residents can take a shuttle boat from Bach Dang wharf to Hiep Phuoc port, Nha Be district to take a speedboat.<\/h2>\n

On the morning of May 13, Phu Quoc Express Boat Joint Stock Company announced the launch of a high-speed boat route from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao and vice versa. Accordingly, the boat named Thang Long departed for the first trip at 7:00 a.m. on May 15 at Hiep Phuoc Port, Nha Be District, 22 km from the center of Ho Chi Minh City.<\/p>\n

Attending the announcement ceremony were Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai and Mr. Bui Xuan Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.<\/p>\n

In two days, the high-speed boat from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao will officially set sail.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The speedboat can travel at 35 nautical miles per hour and in favorable weather conditions can reach Con Dao in just 4.5 hours.<\/p>\n

The ship operates three trips a week. Accordingly, it departs from Saigon \u2013 Hiep Phuoc Port to Con Dao at 7am. From Ben Dam Port (Con Dao) it returns to Ho Chi Minh City at 1pm.<\/p>\n

Ticket prices for the expressway from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao range from 615,000 VND to 1.1 million VND\/trip depending on the passenger and ticket class.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The ship is made of aluminum alloy, nearly 80 meters long, more than 9.5 meters wide, with 4 floors, and can accommodate 1,017 passengers.<\/em><\/p>\n

In Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quoc Expressway Joint Stock Company will arrange shuttle buses to serve passengers from 23\/9 Park to Saigon \u2013 Hiep Phuoc Port. Another option is to take a speedboat from Bach Dang Wharf to Hiep Phuoc Port in about 52 minutes.<\/p>\n

Thang Long Express is considered the largest passenger ship at sea in Vietnam today. The ship is made of aluminum alloy, nearly 80 m long, more than 9.5 m wide, with 4 floors, and can accommodate 1,017 passengers.<\/p>\n

Mr. Vu Van Khuong, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Phu Quoc Express Ship Joint Stock Company, said that the Company has coordinated with the Ministry of National Defense to build ships for this transport route. The ships have international standards with modern equipment, ensuring the highest standards of the world's maritime safety system.<\/p>\n

According to Mr. Khuong, the high-speed boat from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao is a new passenger transport route by waterway, creating conditions for people to have more options for transportation to Con Dao in parallel with airplanes.<\/p>\n

The ship has a capacity of over 1,000 passengers.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Mr. Bui Hoa An, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport, said that when this route is put into operation, it will meet the travel demand, contributing to enhancing the connectivity of Ho Chi Minh City with the provinces in the Southeast region. At the same time, it will help passengers have more choices when traveling from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao, an attractive tourist destination with sacred historical relics, associated with the heroic history of the nation's struggle.<\/p>\n

In just 1 month, since the Ministry of Transport agreed on the pilot project of passenger transport by sea on the Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao route, with the support of the Ho Chi Minh City Maritime Port Authority and Vung Tau Maritime Port Authority and related departments, Phu Quoc High-Speed Boat Joint Stock Company has completed the procedures to officially operate the fixed passenger transport route from the shore to the island from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao and vice versa.<\/p>\n
