Saigon – Hiep Phuoc Port strives to rescue and successfully exploit the ship Glengyle
The incident on Long Tau River between the KMTC SURABAYA and the GLENGYLE on April 25, 2025 was not only a big challenge, but also an opportunity for Saigon - Hiep Phuoc Port to demonstrate its dedication, professionalism and tireless efforts. Overcoming all difficulties, Saigon - Hiep Phuoc Port coordinated with the authorities to carry out rescue work and successfully exploit the cargo of the Glengyle, contributing to stabilizing maritime activities and creating a strong impression.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the Board of Directors of Saigon - Hiep Phuoc Port, under the direct guidance of Mr. Nguyen Anh Hao - Acting General Director, quickly mobilized a team of experienced officers and employees. All activities were carried out with the highest sense of responsibility, from assessing the situation, making plans, to preparing the necessary wharf, equipment and human resources. Close coordination with related units helped the rescue process take place safely and effectively, avoiding unwanted risks.
After the Glengyle was safely towed to Saigon – Hiep Phuoc Port, the entire cargo handling process was carried out professionally and scientifically. The port’s staff worked continuously and efficiently, using modern equipment to load, unload and store cargo. Thanks to many years of experience and an optimal working process, Saigon – Hiep Phuoc completed the work ahead of schedule, ensuring that cargo was handled and stored quickly, minimizing damage. This success not only brought economic efficiency but also strengthened the reputation and position of Saigon – Hiep Phuoc Port on the map of Vietnamese seaports.
