Saigon – Hiep Phuoc Port: a vibrant year

Saigon - Hiep Phuoc Port located in Hiep Phuoc Industrial Park, Nha Be District, Ho Chi Minh City officially started construction on May 16, 2009. With 3 800m long piers and 2 buoys allowing ships from 30,000 DWT to 50,000 DWT, 1,000-ton barge docks at upstream and downstream access bridges; container yard; general cargo yard; general warehouse, the port can receive about 8.7 million tons of goods per year, well meeting the needs of loading, unloading, transporting goods and other maritime supply services.

In early December 2024, Saigon - Hiep Phuoc Port Joint Stock Company successfully held the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, approving a number of important contents related to the strategic direction of sustainable business development of Saigon - Hiep Phuoc Port, thereby opening up new directions to attract customers and ships to the port.

Due to its location deep in Hiep Phuoc Industrial Park, there are many objective factors such as geographical location, competition from neighboring ports and the collection of fees for using infrastructure works, public utility services in the seaport gate area in Ho Chi Minh City, so Saigon - Hiep Phuoc Port has encountered difficulties in maintaining stable customers and attracting new customers. Recognizing these difficulties, the Board of Directors of Saigon - Hiep Phuoc Port has resolutely promoted the comprehensive restructuring of the organizational apparatus, upgraded infrastructure, invested in additional equipment for exploiting containers, general cargo, roro ships and warehouses... In addition, searching for new customer partners and sources of goods, building new marketing strategies, and having appropriate care policies for each customer group.

After a year of efforts, with the consensus and cooperation of all employees, Saigon - Hiep Phuoc Port has achieved initial results: receiving 5 roro ships, including 1 specialized ship for vehicles, 4 specialized ships for equipment, exploiting fertilizer ships, large iron pipe ships, receiving large passenger ships, warehouses receiving many vehicles... In addition, Saigon - Hiep Phuoc Port also coordinated with Saigon Port Technical Vocational Training Center to organize for a group of students from Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport to visit the actual operation of the wharf.

With these new directions, the leadership of Saigon - Hiep Phuoc Port believes that in the future, Saigon - Hiep Phuoc Port will become an important gateway for goods trading, connecting industrial parks with seaports, contributing to building the South of Ho Chi Minh City into a port urban area, accompanying Ho Chi Minh City in developing towards the East Sea.
