On the morning of January 25, 2024, Saigon - Hiep Phuoc Port Joint Stock Company held the 1st Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders in 2024, with many changes in senior personnel structure.

Specifically, Saigon – Hiep Phuoc Port has approved a number of contents related to the new personnel structure of the Board of Directors and a number of changes to the company charter, the operating regulations of the Board of Directors, as well as the strategic direction for the development of Saigon – Hiep Phuoc Port.

In terms of personnel, the General Meeting of Shareholders approved the decision to dismiss Mr. Tran Ngoc Thach from the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors and members of the Board of Directors with Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Toi, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Dung and Ms. Tran Thu Giang.

At the same time, the General Meeting of Shareholders approved the decision to add Mr. Nguyen Le Chon Tam, currently General Director of Saigon Port, as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Mr. Le Van Hoa and Mr. Chu Ngoc Son as members of the Board of Directors for the 2023-2028 term, replacing the members whose dismissal decisions were previously approved.

Speaking at the congress, Mr. Nguyen Le Chon Tam - General Director of Saigon Port, concurrently Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saigon - Hiep Phuoc Port, expressed his gratitude to the entire Board of Directors and Executive Board of Saigon - Hiep Phuoc Port Joint Stock Company in the previous term for their positive contributions to the unit in the past time, and thanked the Board of Directors of Saigon Port and Vietnam National Shipping Lines for trusting and assigning the task. He also said, "In the context of the current general fluctuations of the market, the fiercer competition between ports in the region and internal difficulties have posed many great challenges. In the coming time, Saigon - Hiep Phuoc Port will resolutely promote the comprehensive restructuring process, invest in infrastructure, modern facilities focusing on exploiting container cargo, general cargo and roro, ... to fully utilize the existing capacity and capabilities so that the volume of goods passing through the port is increasingly higher with the determination to turn this place into a gateway goods trading area in the South".

With clear strategic directions, along with the consensus and high determination of the new leadership team for the 2023-2028 term, Saigon - Hiep Phuoc Port is expected to have many changes, outstanding growth and sustainable development in the future, while aiming for the leading position in the seaport industry and being a safe and reliable address for customers.
